History/Overview
Ram's ProMaster van is the result of the joining of Chrysler and Fiat, and in the rest of the world is sold with a number of international badges. Following in the footsteps of other European vans, this is a taller and wider offering than traditional domestic vans, with more space and more configurability.
What's New / Key Changes from Last Year
For 2021, Ram has upgraded the commercial-ready ProMaster with a new digital rear view mirror display as well as standard crosswind assist. It also has more available driver assistance options.
Available Trims
The Ram ProMaster Cargo is sold in an extensive array of wheelbase, length and GVWR options. This includes 118, 136, and 159-inch wheelbases with the longest available with an extended body. They also offer standard and high-roof vans as well as 1500, 2500, 3500, and 3500 chassis cab options.
All of the vans get the same 3.6L V6 with 280 hp and 260 lb-ft with front-wheel drive.
Standard Features
Standard equipment includes 16-inch steel wheels, manual folding mirrors, AC, USB charging, telescoping steering, Uconnect 3 with 5.0-inch screen, four-way adjust cloth seats, power door locks, swivel passenger seat, and rear heater.
Key Options
Options include a safety group with blind spot and cross-path detection, parking sensors, and power folding mirrors. Interior options include a suspension seat for the driver, Uconnect with Navigation, full-speed collision warning, cruise control, and six-way power driver seat adjustment.
Fuel economy
The high GVWR of the ProMaster van means that Ram is not required to provide official fuel economy estimates.
Competition
Competitors for the ProMaster include the Ford Transit and Mercedes-Benz Sprinter vans.
